In the long-awaited opening of the Summer Terrace 2015 at Las Rozas Village guests enjoyed a tantalising food-meets-fashion experience
· The Spanish Villages are putting on a series of events for a unique gastro experience: an exclusive gourmet market at La Roca Village and Las Rozas Village, and the Summer Terrace at Las Rozas Village
This summer Las Rozas Village and La Roca Village have planned new sensations for its guests, making them the very best destinations for summer. In addition to an extensive selection of luxury and fashion brands, this summer they will also offer a unique experience for food-lovers. Quality food is the dish of the day this season.
The model and food-lover Elettra Wiedemann – daughter of the beautiful Isabella Rossellini and grand-daughter of the unforgettable Ingrid Bergman – was the star guest, thanks to her links with both the fashion and food worlds. Internationally acclaimed chefs Javier and Sergio Torres entertained guests with a live show cooking session during which they prepared a dish inspired by Elettra entitled the ‘Elettra Tomato”, which included ingredients such as capellanes, pickles and salted foods. Well-known names from Madrid society such as María Chavarri, Moisés Nieto, Josie and Clara Courel – who presented the event – came together to open the Summer Terrace and discover this season's new trends at Las Rozas Village and La Roca Village.
Elettra – who wore a complete look by Spazio with jewellery by Aristocrazy for the event – explained that she was happy to be taking part in the Las Rozas Village and La Roca Village summer project, #FashionMeetsFood, as it encompasses the two disciplines that she loves the most, fashion and food. “I'm really happy that they chose me as ambassador of this project, as I really relate to finding inspiration in different experiences, especially when it comes to an interplay between fashion and food,” she said. “Meeting the chefs Javier and Sergio Torres has been a real pleasure, as I'm a huge fan of theirs and of Mediterranean cooking. I was able to enjoy the hand-picked selection of fashion brands in the Villages and I really do find what I need in them – from international brands, as well as Spanish brands that I follow. Taking part in the opening of the Summer Terrace with its spectacular sunset has been marvellous.”
At the event, the acclaimed chefs Hermanos Torres discussed how interesting it had been to take part in the initiative, “uniting two worlds that are both so similar, that both revolve around inspiration”. In addition, Elettra, as a food lover and avid follower of Mediterranean cooking, selected her favourites from the Las Rozas Village Summer Terrace menu – the healthy ‘Green Booster’, which is comprised of cabbage, mango, banana and a touch of limoncello, and a slice of tortilla with toasted flat bread, with extra virgin olive oil and a pot of tomatoes.
