Make this your most stylish ski season yet...
Sleek, streamlined, yet never shying away from the spotlight, Shanghai’s style stars are rewriting the rule book of downtime fashion. Just in time for Chinese New Year, we’ve rounded up 3 of its biggest stars and their painstakingly cool looks you’ll want to emulate. Because new year, new wardrobe!
The Cool Girl – Tina Leung
Fashion stylist and frequent fixture on the street style scene, Tina Leung has an eclectic sense of style, meaning the camera’s always on her, whether she’s backstage or pounding the pavements in gravity-defying creepers.
Her signature style: Half-shorn hair, leggy looks and a devil-may- care attitude, Leung has a penchant for bold tailoring and playful prints. And did we mention she has the Blue Steel pose mastered?
Get the look: Throw a textured full-length cape over a turtleneck and balance it out with sleek leather pants and lace-up ankle boots. As for the accessories, keep them minimal with the exception of a standout shoulder bag. Evening calls for a switch up of the turtleneck to a silk wrap-up blouse – try one with asymmetric stripes or cut-out shoulders – and tasselled earrings.
The Innovator – Leaf Greener
Stylist, contributing fashion editor, founder of mobile magazine LEAF – we could go on – and your new Instagram stalk.
Her signature style: True to her moniker and sunny disposition, Leaf is often spotted wearing something bold, something printed and some type of shades. Her look is unafraid and unyielding to trends, it should come as no surprise that’s she been featured in the likes of VOGUE.
Get her look: Since the cold weather calls for layers, more is more, just remember to add some texture. Pair a printed lightweight top with a shearling-trimmed or faux-fur coat and contrast it with striped wide leg pants. Finish it with pristine trainers for a sporty take, switching to black pumps and an oversized floral or beaded brooch for night. Take our word for it, your admirers will be plenty!
The Model Citizen – Shu Pei Qin
Model by day, jewellery designer by night, Shu Pei Qin’s style is refined yet oh-so relaxed, like every off duty model worth their weight in Loubotins. We’ll have everything she’s wearing please!
Her signature style: Modern minimalist with a twist. The supermodel is forever championing neutrals and masterfully demonstrates the power of a denim shirt, slim fitting trousers – navy, nudes as well as bold colours feature heavily in her repertoire –and on-point accessories.
Get the look: Master modern day preppy by teaming a relaxed-fit tweed coat with a blanket scarf and crepe tapered trousers. Finish it off with suede loafers and a hat – beanie, beret, fedora – whatever works. And for after dark, ditch the trousers for a wool midi skirt, with the knit jumper slightly tucked in.
